Accommodation

Homestay Accommodation
Homestay accommodation is the perfect way to experience life feeling at home. In addition to enjoying all the comforts that only a home can offer, such as security and homemade meals, you'll have a unique cultural experience that will allow you to get to know British lifestyle and customs firsthand. You'll also be able to speak English outside the classroom.

The homestay option consists of mixed accommodation in a single or double room (if booking with another person). The rooms are equipped with a bed, desk/table (if there isn’t one inside the room, a study space will be assigned), chest of drawers or wardrobe, mirror, and trash bin. Some rooms also have a television.

Students also have access to common areas of the house, such as the living room, kitchen, and dining room. It is important to keep the rooms and common areas clean and tidy. Students will also have access to a shared bathroom.

Bedding and towels will be provided at the house. You will be allowed to wash your clothes once a week; if you need to wash more often, you will need to discuss it with the host family.

Students have access to Internet and can use the phone to receive calls.

There will be several menu options to choose from. Host families may adjust the type of food offered to accommodate religious beliefs. It is important to specify this when making the reservation. People following a vegetarian diet or with food allergies must indicate their food preferences at the time of booking so we can communicate this to their host family before arrival.

Breakfast depends on the host family. Typically, students prepare it themselves and it includes bread, coffee, and cereal. Hosts are encouraged to offer students the option to eat the same as what they have at home.

Lunch will be the same as the hosts' meals. Dinner in England is typically early, but the family will inform you of the times. All students must buy their own lunch. (Only breakfast and dinner are included).

All aspects of homestay accommodation are managed directly by EC or through our accommodation coordinators.
