Accommodation
Homestay accommodation is the perfect way to experience life in the UK, making you feel right at home. In addition to enjoying all the comforts that only a home can offer, such as safety and homemade meals, you'll live a unique cultural experience that will allow you to get to know the British lifestyle and customs first-hand. You will also have the opportunity to speak English outside the classroom.
The homestay accommodation option consists of a mixed arrangement in either a single or double room (if you book with another person). The rooms are equipped with a bed, desk/table (if not available in the bedroom, a study area will be assigned), a chest of drawers or wardrobe, mirror, and trash bin. Some rooms may also have a TV.
Additionally, students will have access to shared areas of the house, such as the living room, kitchen, and dining area. It’s important that the rooms and common areas are kept clean and tidy. Students also have access to a shared bathroom.
Bed linen and towels will be provided in the house. You will be allowed to wash your clothes once a week; if you need to do more laundry, you must consult with the host family.
Students will have access to the Internet and can use the phone to receive calls. There will be various menu options available for you to choose from. The host families can adjust the type of food offered to accommodate your religious beliefs. It is important to indicate this when making the reservation. People who follow a vegetarian diet or have food allergies should specify their dietary preferences at the time of booking so that we can communicate them to the host families before arrival.
Breakfast depends on each host family. Typically, students prepare their own breakfast, which includes bread, coffee, and cereals. Hosts are encouraged to offer students the option of eating the same food they usually have in their home.
You will eat the same as the hosts. In England, dinner is usually eaten early, but the family will inform you of the timings. All students must purchase their own lunch. (Only breakfast and dinner are included).
All aspects of homestay accommodation are managed directly by EC or through our accommodation officers.
