Accommodation
Homestay Accommodation
Homestay is the perfect way to experience living like at home. In addition to enjoying the comforts that only a home can provide, such as security and home-cooked meals, you will live a unique cultural experience that allows you to experience British lifestyle and customs firsthand. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to speak English outside the classroom.
The homestay accommodation consists of either a single or double room (if booked with another person). Rooms are equipped with a bed, desk/table (if not in the bedroom, a study area will be assigned), chest of drawers or wardrobe, mirror, and trash bin. Some rooms may also have a television.
Students also have access to shared areas of the home, such as the living room, kitchen, and dining room. It is important that both rooms and common areas are kept clean and tidy. Students also have access to a shared bathroom.
Bed linens and towels are provided in the home. You will have the right to wash your clothes once a week; if you need to wash more often, you should check with the host family.
Students have access to the Internet and can use the phone to receive calls.
You will have various menu options to choose from. Host families may adjust the type of food offered to accommodate your religious beliefs. It is important to mention this when making your reservation. Those following a vegetarian diet or with food allergies should specify their food preferences when confirming the reservation so we can communicate them to the host families before your arrival.
The breakfast depends on each host family. Usually, students prepare their own breakfast, which includes bread, coffee, and cereal. Hosts are encouraged to offer students the same meals they typically eat at home.
You will have the same meals as the host family. Dinner is typically served early in England, but the family will inform you of the meal times. All students must purchase their own lunch (only breakfast and dinner are included).
All aspects of homestay accommodation are managed directly by EC or through our accommodation managers.
