Alicante

Alicante is located in the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula, directly on the Costa Blanca – one of the most beautiful Spanish coasts. The Romans named the city “Lucentum”, city of light, and captured the character of this radiant palm-lined city, which enjoys an extremely pleasant climate.
Being a university town, Alicante’s night-life is influenced by students who keep the countless bars in the old town alive until daybreak.
Amongst the most notable features of the city are the Castle of Santa Bárbara, which sits high above the city and offers a spectacular view to the old town, the port and the sea. Also, the promenade Explanada de España, lined by palm trees, is paved with marble floor tiles creating a wavy form and is one of the most recognizable promenades in Spain.
Stylish boulevards, the modern port, the picturesque and old town quarter, modern shopping districts, and the palm-lined sandy beaches provide a lot of variety and remain in visitor’s memories for years to come.
