Enjoy the Italian course in Genoa (Genova), the capital of Liguria and Italy´s largest sea port which is located in the Gulf of Genoa in front of the Ligurian Sea. Genoa has been nicknamed la Superba (“the Proud one”) due to its glorious past and impressive landmarks.

One of the largest in Europe, Genoa’s historic centre unwinds in a maze of alleyways (caruggi) that open onto small squares. Part of the old town of Genoa was inscribed on the World Heritage List (UNESCO). The symbols of the city are the Lanterna (the lighthouse, 117 metres high), old and standing lighthouse visible in the distance from the sea, and the monumental fountain of Piazza De Ferrari. Other famous landmarks are Palazzi dei Rolli, Palazzo Rosso, Palazzo Bianco and Belvedere Castelletto that you reach through the public elevator near Via Garibaldi, the main street in the old town.

A must do is also the ancient seaside district of Boccadasse with its multicolour boats, the promenade which runs along the Lido d’Albaro and well known for its ice-creams.
